High-tech copies

 Wednesday 06 June 2012

A Wiltshire firm is worried that all its work to develop high tech gas masks could be about to be undermined by South Korea.

Avon Protection makes the masks for military personnel and emergency services around the world. The company is seen as a local success story – it’s been going more than one hundred years and is a major employer in Melksham. The company has invested millions of pounds in state of the art facilities.

But Avon now believes that its copyright is at risk from fakes being developed in Asia. And the company wants the EU, with its significant trading clout, to put pressure on South Korea to play fair.
